Political Correctness

It’s the main issue driving support for Trump:

when “respectable” people won’t talk about things that a lot of voters care about, the less-respectable will eventually rise to meet the need. That’s what Trump’s doing. And a lot of people are cheering him on not so much because they’re fans of Trump personally as because they’re happy to see someone finally stand up to the PC bullies.

I agree. His willingness to ignore the faux political pieties that have protected corrupt Democrats (most of all, the Clintons) from criticism is pretty much the only thing I like about him. He’s a bloviating vain, lying asshat and con man, and will probably be a terrible president, but at least he’s forcing the media to finally do their job.

[Update a while]

Trump states the obvious about the leftist (not “liberal”) media.

  1. There was a comment somewhere yesterday that seemed quite apt:

He’s a fox in the press’s ‘chicken coop’. Just the presence of a fox, weasel, or similar in the coop causes the chickens to fly into a hysterical frenzy – to the point some will never lay eggs again, and some might die of exhaustion. And that’s before considering how many are mauled.

They fundamentally can’t shut up about him.

I’m -not- a fan, but he’s the President the -press- deserve.

  2. What’s fascinating to watch is how the media, still pontificating from their high horses, continue to confidently predict what’s going to happen!

  3. Trump states the obvious about the leftist (not “liberal”) media.

That’s good point, it is leftist. The Left use to call itself liberal to hide what they are, and now they want to be called progressive. The left is not liberal or progressive. And left has degenerated into not even being the Left.
The Left already a pretty debased thing, Few words describe them but sleazy is almost a compliment.

  4. I’m not too worried about the so-called “main stream media”.

The truth is the stream is running dry because the source lake is being drained off. There is almost 0, zip, no reason to pay for cable-tv. The millennials are already moving to Hulu, Netflix, Amazon, whatever. Wither the likes of CNN, MSNBC, FOX, CBS, NBC, ABC when no one is watching them anymore? It’s all going to narrow-casting and echo chambers. And print media are all but already dead or will be soon if they don’t have a mobile device footprint staked out.

When I was a teen I was an avid SWL and got all my propaganda for free, thanks to state sponsors. I *still* see no reason to pay for it.
