The Democrats have successfully maneuvered into the position of blaming every local problem on Republicans in DC. They need to be maneuvered -out- of this position. All it really takes is repeatedly hammering “Yes, that -is- a problem in Democratic cities, I don’t know why the residents there elect Democrats to institute such racist policies.”
Just as a matter of historical accuracy, the Democratic party was not founded to preserve slavery. That wasn’t even that big an issue yet when it was founded. It ultimately came down on the pro-slavery side of the issue, but that is kind of like saying the Republican Party was founded to oppose entitlement programs.
