  1. Fox news is reporting the perp is Somali.

    If true, quelle surprise.

As always, time has to go by before the details are sorted out.

  2. Number one killer is still that insidious chemical dihydrogen monoxide.

If we can’t go for the total ban, we should at least consider requiring a four year degree to buy, sell, transfer, own, drill, purify, or produce it.

    😉

    1. LOL! I know that even a few milliliters can cause asphyxiation, and large quantities can destroy whole cities, but how is it the number one killer?

  3. Looks like it was over pretty quick, so who knows if one of the victims or bystanders would have been armed and reacted faster. But that doesn’t mean the next incident like this will play out that way.

I don’t have a problem with students carrying on campus if they meet their states requirements for concealed carry. Not sure it would ever happen if left to the colleges because they function as dictatorships that want to control every single thing, large or small, that students do on or off campus.

What would probably happen is that armed students would have to be approved by the Dean of Students, they would have to wear armbands, they would be tasked with monitoring other students, and given a license to kill people who are not enthusiastic enough in supporting the college’s political ideology.

    1. Back in the 1960s, I forget exactly when, when an insane man (he had a brain tumor) went to the roof of the Texas Tower at the University of Texas and began shooting up the campus, armed students and other civilians helped keep him pinned down until Austin police could get up there and shoot him. One armed civilian even went up with the police.

        1. It’s also not rarely mentioned that this incident lead to SWAT, as at the time, police didn’t carry long arms. It was students showing up with hunting rifles that were able to pin down the sniper in the bell tower, because the police service pistols didn’t have the reach. Of course, SWAT went from a few officers trained in the use of long arms to heavy weapons, armored vehicles, and no-knock raids.
