Brennan And Clapper

Yes, pull their clearances; they’re dangerous, partisan hacks.

I will note, though, that there’s been a lot of confusion on this issue. One does not need to work for the federal government to have a clearance, and one doesn’t intrinsically give it up when one leaves government service. When someone leaves the employ of a contractor to go work for a different one, their clearance goes with them, and often when someone leaves government service, they retain their clearance so they can work on classified projects in the private sector, or as a consultant. But those two clowns have abused their privileges, both in office and out. I think they should not only lose their clearances, but be in jail.

  1. I think the move will ratchet up these type of political games. That said, they certainly have been poster children for the type of abuse that shouldn’t be tolerated.

Alas, I think the Democrats are trying to establish the battleground for bringing back the “spoils of war” change of government bureaucracy. Like the ways they entice people to vote for Trump; they seem to be making a great argument for the President to be able to clean house completely and totally bring in a new government. Certainly Clinton and Obama wanted to do this as much as possible.

    1. They also thought Republicans would never win another election. They had good reason to considering how they tried to rig the system.

There are so many on the left who are fearful of a government not under their control, you think they would be open to the argument that the only way to restrict the harm government can do is to restrict the size of government and how much money it takes from the people. But nope!

  2. Frankly, a true “spoils of war” system would be an improvement over the present one, where Federal employees ostensibly get job protection in exchange for impartial execution of laws, but in practice they skew far to the Left.

IIRC Robert Heinlein railed against some “reforms”, and the civil service system was one of the “reforms” he definitely opposed.
