[Evening update]
Better luck tomorrow, or if they can’t turn it around that fast, Wednesday. Weather looks better, anyway.
mañana
Rumor has it Elon sent out an Xitter saying a de-stacking might be necessary to fix the issue. So possibly N.E.T. Wednesday.
From what I’ve seen on NASASpaceFlight.com (kind of unfortunate name) and NextSpaceflight.com, it looks like the launch is set for Wednesday, March 5 with the launch window opening at 1730 CST as before.
I’m now seeing that the next launch attempt will be no earlier than Thursday, March 6.
Tu estudies Espanol? Es muy beneficial para cerbro fuerte de una persona edad avanzada. Es mi gol futura tambien.
No habla.
Me either yet…
¿Persona mayor? ¡Creo que es un término relativo! ¡Ja!
Sin embargo, escribo en español tan bien como Google Translate me lo permite.
Awhile back, I had a dream in Spanish but I haven’t had any exposure to it since high school, so hopped on the duolingo bandwagon. I had to use google to check some words but I’m pretty sure while the words were Spanish I wasn’t speaking Spanish lol
It’s a family and company joke. My crew are immigrants and my wife is from Mexico. Even being in the company of people speaking other languages for years, it’s still white noise mostly. About like most of them react to me doing things with numbers.
Super windy in Texas today. No point just accepting the booster will be lost at sea when you can wait a day, probably two. Weather should be beautiful on Wednesday.
Also good to see what thermal cycling does to the booster and starship. I have a personal believe that scrubs of shuttle missions putting cycles on the ET led to greater foam shed. As they were not recovered, it is difficult to know for sure.
Starship should be capable of safe operation in much higher winds than F9.
Sure, but maybe not on a flight test this early.
SpaceX says it was a lack of pressure in the system. Again, no point just accepting a loss, when you can take some time to resolve the problem now. The exciting thing will be watching how fast they can unstack, resolve the issue, restack, and be ready for flight.
The weather did not seem at all optimal for an engineering test flight recovery at the pad, either. Lots of low-lying clouds? Where’s the glory in that.
The wind was crazy this morning, having said that there is always a steady wind here. From the giant Jesus you could just make out the rocket yesterday.
Giant Jesus? Isn’t that in Brazil? Been down to SPI / Boca Chica several times, this is a new one to me.
Clear skies are definitely better, you can see the booster for it’s entire flight up & back.
Go down to Isla Blanca Park, and drive down to the end of the Island. You will find a large statue of Christ blessing the Mariners. During Media coverage of SpaceX launches down there, that is where they set up.
Arse Technica hates Musk so much now they barely even covered Monday’s attempted Starship test. All you can see right now there is at least two articles about how horrible he is for Tesla.
Berger made an interesting post on X the other day about an interview with one of the stranded astronauts.
I love Musk and spacex.
Launch the stupid rocket already. I have things I need to do.
Just kinda, sorta sayin’.
Restacked and ready to go for 4:55pm CST.
Well this time Starship got quite far along before failing. Expect a splash in the Indian Ocean, somewhere…
