Certainly, it’s very long in the tooth, and it lasted quite a bit longer than the age of battleships (the transition between the true was, arguably, abrupt, occurring on a quiet Sunday morning in Hawaii in early December 1941).

It will be interesting to see how new space capabilities start to trump conventional air power in the next few decades.

  1. Well uptil I know for Japan. Japan is a civil nuclear power today and its prowess in well established.It also builds warships indigenously of great sophistication and capabilities.It has not built nuclear capability in its armed forces todate as reliable sources indicate.As a democracy it has a constitution which eschews this option.Japan however is the second largest economy in the world today after the US and has currency reserves amounting to 1.2 trillion dollars.The Japanese people in a show of democractic power has brought in a new govt.recently.Is this an indication of seeking a new path? Most Japanese people want US troops out of bases in Okinawa.They further want fresh thinking & economic policies from that of the past 65 years.The armed forces deployed overseas for the first time since
