More Election Thoughts

From Iowahawk:

Less than fifty years ago, African-Americans were barred from public universities, restaurants, and even drinking fountains in many parts of the country. On Tuesday we came together and transcended that shameful legacy, electing an African-American to the country’s top job — which, in fact, appears to be his first actual job. Certainly, it doesn’t mean that racism has disappeared in America, but it is an undeniable mark of progress that a majority of voters no longer consider skin color nor a dangerously gullible naivete as a barrier to the presidency.

It’s also heartening to realize that as president Mr. Obama will soon be working hand-in-hand with a former Ku Klux Klan Grand Wizard like Senator Robert Byrd to craft the incoherent and destructive programs that will plunge the American economy into a nightmare of full-blown sustained depression. As Vice President-Elect Joe Biden has repeatedly warned, there will be difficult times ahead and the programs will not always be popular, or even sane. But as we look out over the wreckage of bankrupt coal companies, nationalized banks, and hyperinflation, we can always look back with sustained pride on the great National Reconciliation of 2008. Call me an optimist, but I like to think when America’s breadlines erupt into riots it will be because of our shared starvation, not the differences in our color.

Barack will bring us together.

  1. On the topic of this election, Thank God we were spared this:

HA-HA-HA-Gulp- this could have been the next Veep. Gulp-Gulp.

What hellish delusion spurred you, Rand, to think that she would, could, should be our first female President?

    Horseshit.

If that does happen thank the brush clearing idiot who overslept while running this show the last 8 years.

  2. I got something funnier than that II!!

Ole 57 states Obama’s stock market is down over a thousand points in just two days! BWAHAHAHA!

  3. Hey Bob, why should they invest in the american market when Obama is going to redistribute their profits?

Does the phrase capital flight mean anything to you?

Perhaps investors will land their capital in Ireland where the lowest business taxes in the industrial world exist.

Pehaps that would be a good venu for commercial space to consider as a fallback location if Obama considers their golden eggs worthelss and decided one meal of gooseflesh is preferable.

  4. Bankrupt coal companies thanks to carbon taxes, II, you tiresome troll. That will all be Wacky Baracky’s doing, not something even the most demented partisan hack will be able to spin as Bush’s fault. As will the continuation of the economic slump if The Great Autobiographer follows through on his promise to have electricity prices skyrocket to avoid global warming global cooling climate crisis climate change climate weather the wrath of Gaia. Anyway, tell us please what the Democratic financial geniuses and wise stewards of the economy did in Congress these past two years to avoid the recent market plunge. Two years they’ve been in control. What have they done? Hint: blocking every attempt at reform of FNM and FRE is not a good answer.

Considering how bad young Americans are at Geography I doubt more than half the people in the comment thread of that link you posted could even find Africa on a map. I know it just makes you all feel sooo superior though with such pithy remarks as, “Palin….she’s like….stupid and shit…you know?” Whatever it takes to inflate your feeble ego so you can make it through the day, be my guest. I know you will just wake up again tomorrow with your heart filled of cynicism, self-doubt, and hate. You can just start the self aggrandizing behavior all over again and hope it is enough to get you through to the end.

By the way, Il, I know you think your name means, ‘not sick’ but a witty rap artist you are not. So, you best go read a book and step up yo vocab or else realize your not that clever for the sake of your own mental health. You’re not teaching anybody anything new. You are certainly not converting anybody to your line of thinking. We get it, your man won, congratulations!!!

  6. Josh, It isn’t just about being a sour winner. There is some value in assessing Palin now — the race for 2012 is already two days old!

  7. Hmmmm.

“Less than fifty years ago, African-Americans were barred from public universities, restaurants, and even drinking fountains in many parts of the country.”

    So frigging what?

Sixty years ago Asians weren’t even allowed in the country and were barred from becoming US citizens.

Wake me up when there’s an Asian President

  8. Wake me up when there’s an Asian President

Former Washington Governor Gary Locke’s experience turned out to be an unfortunate setback toward that eventuality. I don’t know what kind of derangement syndrome you want to blame it on, but if Locke had postponed giving his party’s response to the State of the Union by a few years, he wouldn’t have had so much trouble.

Still, depending on how you define Asian, Gov. Jindal might wake you up some day.

It is a pity that Chinese-American Ed Jew’s political career came to an end — comedians would have had a good time with a Jew Presidency.

  9. Palin resigned a $118,000 a year job to fight against the corruption she found on the Oil and Gas Conservation Commission. She won and cleaned things up. In addition, she has accomplished more in less than two years as governor of Alaska than Barack Obama has accomplished in his entire political career.

I very much doubt that she really was unable to tell if South Africa was in Africa. Do you suppose Biden, with his penchant for making up “facts” to suit himself, could find it on a map?

But I can see why so may people want ot smear Palin and destroy her before she can get any farther in politics. She is a woman of integrity and accomplishment, and we certainly can’t have a person like THAT in high office in DC to spoil things for everybody else there.

  10. Hey Easy Mark, how’s that Florida ‘waterfront’ acreage looking today (or are your eyes still closed)? When are you going to get around to painting that NY Bridge you bought from the same nice young man who was your real estate broker?

Anyway, on to your latest rant:

Not speaking for Rand, but these ‘hellish delusions’ spurred me to not vote for the Great Bait and Switch of 2008. It is set up like a quiz, with answers at the bottom, so you can play along as you wish.

    2. “Look, I’ve got two daughters, 9 years old and 6 years old. I’m going to teach them, first of all about values and morals, but if they make a mistake, I don’t want them punished with a baby.”

    3. “A man I’m proud to call my friend. A man who will be the next President of the United States
