I’ve never so badly wanted to put on a pair of flaming rainbow pants and dance before now.
Personally i think Bailing out Detroit is a minor mistake.
Bailing out the wall street scumbags was a major mistake.
If the Feds want to spend $15 Billion on Demos, R&D and
buying US Made hybrid cars for the GSA fleet, that would
be great.
but just subsidizing production, is stupid.
I think after seeing what’s happening with the banking bailout, any additional bailouts become a case of, “Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.”
A Detroit bailout is therefore aggravated with additional stupidity over and above the banking bailout.
Agreed 1776, Jap cars are overrated mainly due to the Asians owning most of the American media. Remember NBC using fireworks to try to make a GM truck explode? Problems with foreign makes are kept quiet while any minor problem with American makes are broadcast loud and clear. I drive GM trucks and Ford cars and have no problems with any of them lasting to 300k miles. Never will I be suckered into buying Asian makes like the sheep that believe anything they hear on TV.
