Paul Spudis provides us with his thoughts for the goals of future space policy. I pretty much agree with it. In fact, it seems as though it should be obvious that we should be working to develop the resources off planet, but you’d never know it from NASA’s current plans.

NASA specifically ignored the president in implementing the VSE and the Aldridge commission for ISRU. No ISRU, no future in space.

Michael Mealling took the paper that Ferris Valyn and I had just sent in to the transition team, and created a compacted version to send to the NAS study. I can see if he still has a copy.
