Having committed self-publishing, I recommend it as a last resort. Even a small-press release will move a lot more books then all but the most successful self-pub operation.
I don’t really care how he gets it out there, but I would buy a copy. He already has me wondering what happened to the Ares III crew.
He might want to change the name. Allen Steels wrote “Labyrinth of Night” in about 1991. It was set on Mars too.
