OK, it’s not infringement. But if you unknowingly buy a stolen item, and “authorities” find out, and you get notified, you have to give the item back to the true owner.
You can’t give the book back to the owner, but you shouldn’t get to keep it if it’s “stolen” either. Maybe there should have been better notification before the deletions.
