  1. I’ve never said I don’t like dogs. Just because I’m allergic to them and don’t want to own one doesn’t mean that I want them to suffer or be homeless.

  2. Most breeds have specific rescue organizations. They do this because too many people pick a breed based on look and not temperment. And upon rescue, since a breed is well understood, it is easier to place the animal in an appropriate environment. I’ve always liked that concept.

  3. Greyhound rescue groups specialize in that area because they form relationships with the industry to get the dogs after retirement (as opposed to the owners having the dog killed). Greyhounds are so uniformly well-tempered (by that I mean lazy and people-loving) that they make excellent house-pets.

  4. got it. It’s just that usually there is a personal motivation for many who find their way to linking such things.

    Never assumed you were pro cruelty, just momentarily bewildered that you came across such a cause, and promoted it.
