The White House is apparently distancing itself from Arlen Specter. It’s not clear whether this will help or hurt the slimebucket, but it is clear that it doesn’t want to embarrass itself coming in and demonstrating once again the president’s campaigning impotence, as occurred in Virginia, New Jersey and Massachusetts.
