  1. The real question is do homosexual fashion designers find her boyish figure attractive? That’s who calls the shots.

  2. She’s very tall and very slim, but she’s well-proportioned within those parameters and she doesn’t seem to be anorexic. Have you ever seen an anorexic girl in the nude? Not a pretty sight.

Yeah, I would have done her, back before I was married. Whether *she’d* go for a man four inches shorter than herself is a whole ‘nother question. But then consider Mick Jagger (5’10”) and his main squeeze L’Wren Scott (6’4″). (However, Mick has something in his pants that’s *enormous* – his wallet.)

But why do the fashionistas put otherwise good-looking women of any height in those UGLY clothes?

  3. Hmm. Understand, I’ve always been attracted to tall women (I’m 6’1″ myself), but not one that I might break if I hugged. Give me something ‘thicker’ and stockier, any day…

  4. She’s horribly undernourished. I do not find that attractive in any way. She’s not even aesthetically appealing. She looks long and gangly.

  5. DING, DING, DING, DING…no more callers please, we have a WINNER!!

    Titus gets it!!

The gay men who “run” women’s fashion LIKE the look of 15 y/o boys, so THAT is the current ideal of beauty. Personally, as I’ve said here before, I like women, who look like women. Monroe, Grable, that era, curvy girls, then up to Raquel Welch in that crazy, fur, bikini! Hell, they’d all starve in Hollyweird now for their fatness. But regardless of that, this chick, is sickening!!

There is a point at which a persons BMI can be too low also. This supposed beauty babe has to be below that mark. And if she’s not anorexic or bulimic, I’ll mangiati il fedora!

  6. “Yeah, I would have done her, back before I was married.”

Oh, Murgatroyd, you silver-tongued devil. And I thought the age of the gentleman was over.

  7. It’s odd, but all the homosexual men I’ve ever known like women to have curves and who look feminine. Yes, they can appreciate female beauty — they just don’t want to have sex with women. Then again, most of the gay men I knew were Cubans in Miami, so it could be a cultural thing. But not all gays like women to look like 15-year-old boys.

  8. And having looked at the woman I’d say she is much too thin. I don’t actually think she’s the “ideal” model — I’d say if she gets anywhere looking like that it will be as a novelty, and only for a little while, until she finally gains some weight or ends up in the hospital.

  9. “Not that women are falling all over themselves to try to figure out how to make themselves attractive to me.”

They’re not, Rand? Well, phooey on them, then. I’m sure they don’t know what they’re missing. ;-p

  10. The 15-year-old boy thing is part of it, but I bet fashion designers also want to employ women whose figures simply won’t show past the clothes. When this girl models, you see her dress. If it were Christina Hendricks or Kim Kardashian, your eyes would get stuck on their epic curves.

  11. She’s in dire need of a double cheeseburger topped with bacon, with an extra large order of fries and a big milkshake.

Sorry, but I prefer women who look like women. As the saying goes, “real women have curves.”

  12. I would think the point of modeling fashions is to show what the clothes would look like on women in the target market. I can’t imagine she could provide that reference to anyone but herself.

  13. These women don’t have to look good in person; they have to look good on television, and in a magazine, with various lenses and give the clothing designers room to work with and still leave margins around the model in a half-page magazine photo. You aren’t going to fit a “full figured” model on an 3.5″ x 9.75″ photograph and have decent framing that complements the clothing.

  14. Andrea,
I specifically pointed to the fashion crowd, when I said 15 y/o boys. I simply draw my conclusion from the girls they choose as current models.

But the Cuban gay men, being Spanish at heart, would appreciate the curvier look. It’s obvious from looking in at the actresses or females in general on Spanish Language TV, that they, as a culture, still revere meat, not bones when looking at women.

    Jonathan C,
so, you’re saying the women in photos PRIOR to current era, did not look good? Piffle Sir, piffle! And here’s my proof. Or you can go search any other curvy women of prior eras.

  15. Achtung peasants! WE control the culture and your whining only exhibits your ignorant bourgeois sensibilities. This woman is the IDEAL body type. She has a body fat ratio so low that she no longer menstruates, she is physically incapable of either attracting a normal male or conceiving a child. She has but one purpose: to project a mainstream culture approved ideal image to young girls for the purpose of gender difference reduction and population control.

If all women were so proportioned the problems with healthcare efficiency, and human environmental criminality would be completely solved within 3 generations. Anyone who disagrees with this need to be confined on an iceberg.

  16. Come on, people! I know a couple of women who, as a result of genetics rather than disease, starvation or hyper-tight corsets, are as thin as that woman and are (apparently) happily married. It’s a good thing their husbands aren’t as picky as all of you stunningly beautiful ladies and devastatingly handsome guys seem to be.

At least she’s real. When you talk about unrealistic expectations in the fashion industry, you might consider examples like these:

    You want a thin waist?

    The wandering waist

    Before and after

(The Photoshop Disasters website has dozens of examples.)

  17. Murg,
    it’s not picky, it’s preference.

The guy who married the thin lady wasn’t picky either. He prefers his thin wife, over larger women who were available.

(he’s just too dumb to know the difference, that’s all!)

  18. I do not find this woman attractive.

    (wags finger)

I do not want to have sexual relations with this woman.

  19. I would think the point of modeling fashions is to show what the clothes would look like on women in the target market.

Then you would be wrong. The real point is to make women feel inadequate about their bodies by comparing themselves too the models, who are supposed to represent an ideal. The theory is that they will then go out and buy the same fashion in a desperate attempt to look more like the “ideal.” It’s dismaying how often that theory seems to work.

  20. Two points here. One is that it is simply easier to make clothes that fit women with no curves, and fashion designers (or at least a lot of them) have very little skill in actually fitting clothes.

Regarding Latins; well, their preference for real women seems to actually be the case. Supporting evidence; Jennifer Lopez and someone rather less well known – Ruth Lorenzo, who is apparently doing very well in Spain and Latin America as a singer. As Simon Cowell rather creepily said on air during X Factor, there are two good reasons for that. (She is a damn good singer, too – her version of Purple Rain is better than Prince’s.)
