  1. The good news is that the True Blue Republicans are taking their party back from the Tea Party state by state.

Good news, indeed, as we can look forward to the True Blue’s returning to GOP business-as-usual: the conservation of last year’s Democrat agenda. That means next year we can all expect the True Blue Republicans™ to vigorously defend Obamacare from those novice-voter bitter-clingers who don’t understand that True Blue™ means being a second-rate Democrat. Amen.

  2. Carl,

The Confederate States of America didn’t feel they were in rebellion. They felt they were simply exercising their rights under the original Declaration of Independence to succeed from the United States and in 1861 it was a gray area of the law as it was not until the Supreme Court ruling in Texas v. White that the Supreme Court ruled unilateral succession was illegal.

  3. being against slavery was a progressive perspective because you were taking away the property rights of the owner

Only if we let you define progressive Thomas. Slavery has always existed including today. However, it has always been against our founding principles. “All men are created equal and endowed by our creator with inalienable rights…”

Dismissing written principles is not just a modern idea. When rights are violated (not pseudo rights invented by demagogues) people of honor need to act in every time and place.

  4. I still think is funny that the libertarians invading the Republican party have the nerve to refer to True Blue Republicans (TBR) as “Republicans in Name Only”.

Republican claim to defend and protect the constitution. Those that don’t are RINOs. Frankly, I’m not sure if any of them understand what it is they are suppose to be protecting since they don’t do their duty when selecting judges or writing laws.

In case you missed the point, it’s not possible for the tea party to be RINOs since they don’t claim to be republicans. The tea party is open to anybody of any party that wants to rein in an out of control government. But keep on redefining those words Thomas. I’m sure we’ll all be right there with ya!

  5. Ken,

[[[Republican claim to defend and protect the constitution.]]]

And the Democrats are lying when they take their oaths of office???

[[[it’s not possible for the tea party to be RINOs since they don’t claim to be republicans. The tea party is open to anybody of any party that wants to rein in an out of control government.]]]

If they are not claiming to be Republicans then why are they running in Republican primaries? Why aren’t they honest enough to run in their own Tea Party primaries? Or in Democratic primaries? When a candidate starts out lying about the very party they represent just to get votes how could you possibly trust them on anything else they say?

No wonder so many of the Tea Party members run away from journalists. Folks who have nothing to hide have no reason to run from the press. Or to have their personal goon squads handcuff them for asking questions.

  6. Ken,

[[[However, it has always been against our founding principles. “All men are created equal and endowed by our creator with inalienable rights…”]]]

And yet the many of the individuals that agreed to those words were slave holders and justified their actions on the ground that the black race was too “immature” to be trusted with freedom. It was only the pressure from the progressive intellectuals in New England and old England that provided the arguments that all races are equal. It wasn’t until the 14th Amendment that they were given the full protection of the Constitution as citizens.

BTW I assume you do know that the Tea Party is calling for the repeal of the 14th Amendment which the Republican Party championed after the Civil War.

8 Candidates Who Want to Amend the US Constitution

    David Knowles

[[[(Oct. 7) — Does the U.S. Constitution grant Americans citizens too many rights?

That seems to be the conclusion reached by some tea party activists and the candidates they have helped propel to victory. While in years past, a scattered number of political aspirants have spoken about scaling back the Constitution so that it more closely resembles the original version, this year’s rise of the tea party has resulted in a slew of candidates who view the revered document as bloated.]]]

Others tea Party leaders want to go further.

Tea party leader: Denying vote to those without property ‘makes a lot of sense’

[[[But Phillips’ discussion of changes to the U.S. Constitution didn’t stop there. Also on the program was David DeGerolamo, a North Carolina tea party leader and founder of NC Freedom, a state-wide tea party umbrella group.

DeGerolamo went even further on the program, calling for complete repeal of the Fourteenth Amendment — a broad-ranging amendment which outlines basic rights of citizenship, due process and equal protection.]]]

So do you still think the Tea Party is something President Lincoln and the progressive founders of the Republican Party would take pride in? or fight against?
