Moving The Goalposts

Now that DADT has passed, the mindless pacifists have to come up with a new excuse to keep ROTC off campus. Colman McCarthy has a very pathetic attempt. Victor Davis Hanson isn’t very impressed, either.

[Update Friday morning]

The US military can’t possibly be a hundredth as uncomfortable with gays as the Left is uncomfortable with the American soldier.

More from Stephen Green.

And this seems related, too: “I have an easier time being openly gay with conservatives than I do being a conservative with other gay people.”

Sounds about right to me.

  1. I see that the Left hasn’t come very far since the days of spitting on our men and women in uniform and calling them “baby-killers”. How embarrassing for them.

  2. The leftists on universities banned ROTC and military recruiting because of DADT, they were proving what ignorant, uninformed morons they are. DADT was federal law, passed by a Democrat controlled congress in 1993 and signed by Bill Clinton, a Democrat. The military doesn’t get the luxury of deciding which laws it will obey or disobey. If they think the military ignoring the law is a good thing (e.g. “we support the troops who kill their officers”), they’re advocating a path to dictatorship.

  3. Do not know about the govt surveys. But many mil blogs are running 25 to 1 against repealing DADT. Will have to wait to see how that translates into retention and enlisting. In one move they knocked out a significant group of those who have defended our nation for generations, including the academies. Guess that could have been an objective of the Soros groups that have been hitting the media.
