OK, Does Trump Have The Goods?

…or is he just continuing to bluff out a poker hand?

In an interview with the Associated Press, Trump alleged that Mr. Obama had been “a terrible student,” and wondered how he could have been accepted to prestigious schools like Columbia and Harvard Universities.

“I heard he was a terrible student, terrible,” Trump told the AP. “How does a bad student go to Columbia and then to Harvard? I’m thinking about it, I’m certainly looking into it. Let him show his records.”

I would be very depressed about a choice between Obama and Trump, about as much as I was with the choice last time (partly depending on running mate — Palin was the only saving grace of the ticket), but I am popping lots of corn right now. Notwithstanding my current restrictions for salt and carbs…

If what I suspect is the truth eventually comes out, it will be a horrific indictment of affirmative action, which in this case may have resulted in the Peter Principle being accelerated to the nth power, having been instituted by the entire electorate. On the other hand, it may have inoculated the nation from making such a mistake again for decades. On the gripping hand, it will be bad news for good black candidates for decades, as I warned Obama supporters at the time.

[Update Monday evening[

But don’t say he’s not a conservative! Trump gave fifty grand to Rahm Emmanuel’s mayoral campaign. He must think that Republicans are stupid. Sadly, there’s a lot of evidence to support his belief.

  1. There are a couple of theories about his college transcripts that are floating around. One is the Trump idea that he was a mediocre student. The other is that he may have played the system by claiming to be a “foreign” student. Of course there is no evidence for either, but as long as the president keeps this stuff from going public, it will be open to speculation.

  2. If BHO’s transcripts do surface and they show what Rand (and I) suspect, it will be sickening to watch as every teacher who ever gave him less than a B+ is publicly thrown under the bus for being a closet racist.

  3. Yeah, the word I get is both of what Chris L says: he was both a mediocre student, more interested in getting stoned, as well as claiming to be a foreign student, using his Indonesian passport, because he never renaturalized when he moved back to Hawaii, but also that he claimed to be a muslim, since he hung out with a lot of Malcom X type black muslims at the time…. which would be devastating for him politically for that to come out.

  4. It’s odd that CBS is reporting on an investigation that some oddball is doing, and not offering any of its own extensive, in-depth, thoroughly vetted background information on the President of the United States. They give a dust-jacket blurb (copied, with no independent investigation, from one of the Prez’s own “memoirs” no doubt), but don’t seem to really know much themselves. Or, worse, to care. Like it doesn’t matter.

Well, maybe it doesn’t to them. He’s in, he’s Prez, and that’s good as far as CBS is concerned…until he turns on them, of course.

Another possibility is that his course load consisted mainly of radical Marxist and racial grievance-type courses.

  6. If they do surface it will be fun to watch President Obama file lawsuits against Donald Trump and those involved for their violations of FERPA.

  7. Chris,

[[[The other is that he may have played the system by claiming to be a “foreign” student.]]]

I see a lot of transcripts in my job as Department Chair. No where have I seen on that shows a student as being foreign or domestic. That is only for Financial Aid, the business office and Registrar to know since the only things it impacts is tuition, what aid they may receive and the processing the immigration forms.

Now you might be able to figure it from their schools they have attended that are listed on the transcript, but you would only be guessing.

  8. I’ve long been a “namer” rather than a birther. (though I am open to being convinced on the latter, I just haven’t seen anything convincing yet).

My opinion on the birth certificate issue hasn’t changed since early in the 2008 campaign. I think he’s hiding something, just not what the birthers think he is.

My guess; it’s his name. I think he might have “Barry” on his BC, making his nauseating whinging in his autobiographies (about growing up with a foreign name) even more laughable.

Or, even more damaging; what if his middle name on the BC isn’t Hussein? That would mean he added it later, and that’s common amongst converts to Islam. Wouldn’t that be a hoot; massively damaging, plus those misbegotten troglodytes (Islamists) would mark him for death for apostasy.

As for why he’s hiding his college transcripts and passport info: whould those reveal his legal name at the time?

He’s spending million to hide whatever he’s hiding. The good thing about Trump is he can afford to fight this fight.

Actually, I think I know what Obama’s real middle name is: it’s “Millhous”
    🙂

    Or both!

And would that be a good thing; that he was a Marxist, but only a C- Marxist? Maybe having a a C- Marxist for President is better than an A+ Marxist for President, don’t you think?

  10. Arguments from ignorance are so retarded. Maybe he has no birth certificate or college transcript because he’s an alien!!!! A UFO dropped him off!! We don’t know!!

Or maybe everyone who gets a copy of them find them so useless to their agenda that they don’t bother publishing them.

  11. And would that be a good thing; that he was a Marxist, but only a C- Marxist? Maybe having a a C- Marxist for President is better than an A+ Marxist for President, don’t you think?

I’ve often wondered: Which is more dangerous, a smart Marxist or a dumb Marxist? I don’t know the answer. It’s a conundrum.

  12. He must think that Republicans are stupid.

After you concede the academy and the culture to the Democrats, you may not be exactly stupid, but you will absolutely be characterized that way.

  13. The few that study Marxism enough such that they could pass a comprehensive exam would understand that his entire thesis was futurism.. that is, he predicted in order to inspire. When a futurist fails to make accurate predictions it’s good not to get inspired and better not to get bitter.

  14. Trump, of course, is a clown and has no chance of getting the nomination.

What interests me about 2012 is the possibility of two libertarian candidates running for the GOP nod–Gary Johnson and Ron Paul. While each has flaws, there’s something mildly hopeful about having two in the field who actually “walk the walk” when it comes to limited government and civil liberties. I think Johnson in particular has an outside chance, if things break right, but even if both fail, their presence could force the other candidates to address some core questions about the proper role, size, and scope of government.

  15. In answer to the question: “OK, Does Trump Have The Goods?”

    No.

His entire “empire” is a house of cards and a cloud of pretense. If he does file and run seriously, the revelations of how little he actually owns, himself, and builds, himself, will make hilarious reading.

This is a media-hound who is very very good at one thing: attracting attention to himself.

  16. “I’ve often wondered: Which is more dangerous, a smart Marxist or a dumb Marxist? I don’t know the answer. It’s a conundrum.”

The worst is a dumb Marxist (or lots of them) being led by a smart Marxist.

  17. In answer to the question: “OK, Does Trump Have The Goods?”

    No.

    What a difference a day makes…

  18. Why are we discussing Marxism? The available evidence shows that our current President is actually a political creature not often seen any more – a Rockefeller Republican. I think he’s been once since his Harvard days, that spawning ground used to produce many of the type. The now-radicalized GOP has just about exterminated the type in its original habitat, which could explain why so many of you cannot recognize a specimen when observed.
Evidence for this theory: his re-appointment of Bernanke, his turning over economic policy to the likes of Larry Summers (the great “deregulator”, other than Greenspan!) and Tim Geitner, and his new NASA policy. (That last is a good thing, in my view).
Now as for The Donald, I think he’s an embarrassment to the species. His reaction to the release of the birth certificate further ruins my ability to even listen to the creep.
And before any stalwart conservatives defend him: it also just came out, that The Donald has aimed most of his recent political donations to Democrats. He has played both sides, as suits the then-current demands of his ego.

  19. And a quick reply to “Titus”: note that I posted that prior to the White House’s action. Further disclosures, if The Donald does stage a real campaign, will confirm the rest of what I wrote.

  20. Kevin, given that Trump just got punked by a forgery and now-unindicted felon, Barack Obama, I’m inclined to agree with you now.
