What does the law say about video recording police activity? I think that these cops should not only be sued, but suspended. And it would be nice to see it become a big national story, to discourage such behavior in other departments.

Substantial allegations of bill-of-rights violations should cause revocation of the protections against lawsuits enjoyed by government officials.
This gives people a personal vested interest in not overstepping their authority.
