  1. Well maybe that is because Paul Krugman and other democrat luminaries are calling for an Alien Invasion as a means to boost the economy.

  2. Clicking through, one would surmise that the purpose of “Hatewatch” is to watch the Left hate everything that is not them.

  3. So how many sharks did SPLC jump that time? Looking at the blog, it appears to be a place to whine about generic leftist issues while ridiculing those on the other side of the aisle. Maybe they should just drop whatever that they’re supposed to do and focus on providing whine-space for their constituents/members.

  4. So how many sharks did SPLC jump that time?

You mean that competitive space development is not the same as lynching black people?

    Hater.

  5. We have absolutely NO idea why this happens. Some people just get 404. In fact, I get a 404 from my home connection (Cox Cable in Virginia) but my Verizon Droid sees it just fine.

If anyone gets a 404 error please email info@teainspace.com your net provider, windows or mac, and os.

    Thanks,

  6. Not Found, Error 404

    Isn’t that Paul Krugman’s resume?

So how many sharks did SPLC jump that time?

What color do people associate most with sharks, thanks to Peter Benchley? RAAAACIST!

  7. Watches were those things peeps use to carry or wear to tell the time before they had cellphones, amirite?

  8. Gah. I lost precious IQ points reading the links from that TPIS post.

(Andrew: It worked fine for me. Safari 5.1 on Mac 10.6.8. Keep on keepin’ on.)

  9. Meh. Getting your time off a cellphone, is like going back to a pocket watch…

    …and…so…???

  10. Moris Dees, not to be confused with Morris Day of the Time, is nothing more than a race-bating poverty pimp.

His foundation lives off of Government grants, which would be a good place for the Tea Party to start cutting dontcha’ think?

  11. I agree, M. How am I going to extend the Northern Scandinavian lifestyle into outer space with the SPLC blocking me at every juncture? Maintaining the ethnic purity of outer space is precisely the purpose that the Tea Party was created for!

  12. It will be interesting to see if President Obama’s space policy ends up being associated with the Tea Party and support for it ends up declining as public support for the Tea Party is now doing.

On the other hand major Tea Party candidates, like Governor Perry, seem to have no love for it simply because it’s President Obama’s policy. In this case it seems like Tea Party in Space is out of step with the leading Tea Party candidates for president.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

  13. The reaction was pretty much total ideological reflex. It’s obvious no one who wrote the articles or commented on them actually bothered to go to the Tea Party in Space website to see what it was actually about. It was Tea Party [whatever] == “stupid”, so let’s all make fun of our ideological enemies. And yes, I’m not sure what the whole “hatewatch” thing is about either. I guess not wanting to bow to the state is a form of hate speech.

  14. Interesting article on the Tea Party in Space.

However, no where in the article does it state they are basically supporting President Obama’s space policy of replacing NASA launch systems with private ones. Instead it almost sounds like they invented the idea…

    Note this statement:

[[[His interest in applying tea party principles to the space program began when the Obama administration canceled the Space Shuttle and Constellation programs in favor of domestic spending.

“President Obama really didn’t show he had a serious vision for what he wanted America to do in space,” says Gasser. “Basically, he’s relinquishing our leadership role in that capacity.]]]

    And this one.

[[[That dismal history led Gasser and other tea party members to suppose there must be a better way: Why not apply the conservative, free-market principles of the tea party movement to space exploration?]]]

You think they could at least give President Obama some credit for his policy switch that replaced NASA operated human launch systems with ones operated by contractors for fix price contracts….

It looks like even when President Obama does something their way the Tea Party has to bash him.
