Project Gunwalker

…and the foundation of liberty:

It all comes down to this: Is there an inalienable right to self-defense? If there is, each man has indisputable, inestimable value, value that he may rightly preserve even if the life of another man is forfeit. A man may kill another in lawful self-defense even if the policy preferences of the state would prefer his death. If a right to self-defense actually exists, it is in a very real sense the highest law of the land and all lesser laws must pay it deference. It fundamentally defines the social contract, the nature of the relationship between man and the state.

But if there is no such inalienable right, the entire nature of the social contract is changed. Each man’s worth is measured solely by his utility to the state, and as such the value of his life rides a roller coaster not unlike the stock market: dependent not only upon the preferences of the party in power but upon the whims of its political leaders and the permanent bureaucratic class. The proof of this analysis surrounds us.

We have to remove these tyrants from power as soon as possible.

  1. Are they really going to allow the next presidential election to be held? Two years ago I mentioned this to lots of laughter. Let’s see what else the Emperor and his cloud of cronies come up with to destroy America between now and then.

  2. “This is what happens to ideals and morals when the self loathing get into power.”

They’re not self-loathing (not the elite-left, the prole-left who knows?). They like themselves just fine. They *hate* your liberty, because it denies them their power and purpose as your rulers.

“Are they really going to allow the next presidential election to be held?” I would be very surprised if they didn’t. At this point, attempting to hang onto power through a dictatorship has a high likelihood of failing, and it would end the left in this country. Lying low for a while and working on people’s envy will see them back into power in another four years or so, given the present political demographics. 40% of the country simply will not vote anything other than left, even if the tanks are rolling through the streets.

  3. When my wife and I fly to England this weekend, we intend to keep a low profile. However, if the situation warrants, I’ll do my best to defend myself. Should I be arrested for that, so be it. Better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6.

But I ask again, how can any country that prosecutes people for self-defense consider itself civilized?

  4. One thing that is remarkable here is the blatant conflict of interest for US Attorney Burke, which I might add appears to be bearing fruit with his nonsensical rejection of a valid motion to claim victim status. It’s clear cut that he shouldn’t be handing the prosecution of Jamie Avila, both for the existing conflict of interest and his subsequent actions. Intent is opaque. When Obama or other administration official changes their story, one can usually come up with a somewhat plausible excuse that doesn’t involve them intentionally lying (even though in some cases they probably are).

But you can’t excuse this sort of ethical lapse. It’s not in the least difficult for the US government to come up with a prosecutor who doesn’t have a stake in the case. This is why I opposed Obama in 2008 and will do so in 2012.
