  1. I was creeped out by “Homeland Security.” I thought it was a real misstep by the Bush administration to call it that (much less forming such an agency in the first place, but that’s an argument for another day). It reminded me of things like “Heimat” — and considering the source I was actually surprised there wasn’t more outcry at the time from the lefties, though there was some. But now I know why there wasn’t as big a fuss over the terminology. Scratch a leftist, find a Nazi.

  2. “Federal Family” has about the same creep factor as “Manson Family”. And both ‘families’ have the same kind of sex crazed, power mad leaders.

    Andrea is right too.

that say things like Homeland Security, also tend to want more lebensraum. And they are now mostly socialists who want to JOIN a one world government, instead of conquering everyone and creating a one world government.

Socialists? Sex crazed? Power mad? Yep, sounds like the WH to me!

  3. So when is Dad gonna make Eric Holder sit in a corner?

That’s “mom jeans” job and Dad has to pop for dinner and a movie first.

  4. That should read “We the taxpayers are Dad.” Y’all probably guessed that.

That’s not the Left’s way of thinking, of course. They see themselves as the wise, benevolent Mother taking care of all of us helpless, idiot children who are incapable of doing even the simplest things without their wise guidance.

They can kiss my ass. I don’t need a leader. I need the government to leave me the hell alone.

  5. Meanwhile, I see the federal government as the ungrateful, drunken, fat, lazy, stupid and unemployable brother-in-law who lives in the basement, eats my food, spends my money and complains that he isn’t being maintained in the manner to which he has become accustomed.

Fortunately, that does not describe my actual brothers-in-law but I hope you get the point.

  6. Larry,

Are you old enough to remember the old Dom DeLuise sitcom Lotsa Luck? Except for the drunken part, you have one of the characters nailed:

“The show centers around [DeLuise character] Stanley’s frustration with his lazy, mooching brother-in-law, Arthur, who refuses to get a job, dresses like a slob (usually unshaven and wearing a bathrobe) and eats like a horse.”

  7. I may have heard of the program but don’t remember watching it. That character does sound a lot like “our federal family”, doesn’t it?

  8. I never saw it. Based on a British sitcom it seems more them than us… in the past anyway. Four DVDs gives you the complete series means it didn’t run very long (22 half hour? episodes)

  9. Apparently Sarah finds it creepy as well…

“Now it’s called the “federal family.” Am I too old to ask to be emancipated? Never thought I’d say it, but I want a divorce.”
