The Gunwalker conspiracy is the kind of story that journalists dream of breaking their entire careers. It is now in the palms of their hands: a story in which they can make a difference, take down the evil and corrupt, and ensure justice is served.
Instead of reporting, however, they are complicit. They have chosen to acquiesce to a clear and obvious evil, an aberration of our most basic values. They are no longer watchdogs, but docile sheep.
When it’s a Republican scandal, they’re watch dogs. When it’s a Democrat scandal, they’re lap dogs.
When it’s a Republican scandal, they’re watch dogs. When it’s a Democrat scandal, they’re lap dogs.

As I’ve said repeatedly, this will never go anywhere, and it wasn’t hard to predict. When Clinton started bombing Iraq the day his impeachment proceedings began, and stopped the day he was acquitted, it was the most brazen, blatant, undisguised case of abuse of office in the history of this country. But everyone, Republicans included, pretended right along with him that it was legitimate (the only people who didn’t were the Communist Party USA, who demanded another impeachment). If Clinton could get a pass on something that obvious, Obama will never, ever be touched by something slightly more complicated.
I think there’s much more to uncover, because giving guns to the Sinaloa cartel and letting thousands more “walk,” with agents threatening to expose the plot, seems like overkill if the goal is just to have some American guns show up at Mexican crime scenes (to try and push a gun ban). I suspect a nexus with another scheme, since Mexican drug cartels have enormous amounts of untraceable cash that could easily find its way into the hands of US politicians and groups like ACORN.
After all, if drug cartels did penetrate and control the highest levels of US law enforcement, they’d be doing exactly what was going on: Arming themselves and getting a free pass to ship drugs and weapons via the DOJ, CIA, and State Department. If there was a law enforcement agency independent of this administration, I’d have them digging through the bank accounts of everyone remotely connected to Gunwalker, the DNC, or any organization with close ties to the administration.
I read an article a few weeks ago (unfortunately, I don’t remember where) which suggested that the purpose of Gunwalker was to destabilize the Mexican government and plunge that country into full-blown civil war. Then the steady stream of illegal aliens coming into the U.S. would turn into a tsunami of millions of people desperately fleeing the carnage, and they could be granted official refugee status. That would seriously complicate the efforts to stem the flow of illegal aliens.
In other words, a Cloward-Piven strategy.
(There was a PJM article suggesting a different Cloward-Piven strategy, involving legalizing drugs, but that’s not the one I’m thinking of.)
The US press no longer works like we learned in civics class. Accept the fact and start working to change it.

I read an article a few weeks ago (unfortunately, I don’t remember where) which suggested that the purpose of Gunwalker was to destabilize the Mexican government and plunge that country into full-blown civil war.
As I understand it, the scheme would not be big enough. The cartels have many other sources of weapons and those seem more than ample. Now, if powerful military weapons such as Stinger missiles were finding their way into criminal hands via Gunwalker, you’d have a case even if the volume wasn’t particularly high.
United we stand, divided we fall. Is it any different now?
Elections are not enough to fix this problem. Too many American haters hold the reins in non-elected positions. The media and the schools are second and third fronts that have to be part of the solution. This will take generations and focus.
Karl, that’s why I’m wondering whether Gunwalker was a cover in a cover in a cover (but unlike most paranoid conspiracy theories, this one boils down to some people getting a suitcase full of narco cash, instead of the Illuminati using Barbara Streisand to free Satan from a Bilderberg prison guarded by Sasquatch).
The first cover story is that it’s an elaborate sting operation designed to take down drug runners. That would satisfy most government employee’s curiosity.
But if that doesn’t satisfy, perhaps the next story is that it’s a scheme to get inside the cartels themselves.
If a hard-core Obama loyalist on the inside digs even deeper, there’s the story is that it’s an elaborate scheme to help push gun control legislation and reduce crime, breaking a few eggs in the process. Then they’re in the know with a big secret and will either help with the scheme or help keep it quiet.
But there are far easier ways to push for gun control, such as simply introducing a bill or just issuing a bunch of executive branch directives.
So perhaps that story is also a cover, and the real reason is “The cartels are spreading around a lot of freakin’ money and it just paid for my retirement and a new house in the Bahamas.”
Narco terrorists wouldn’t give a fig about US gun control laws, yet they’re apparently on board with whatever scheme was going on. I can’t imagine what plausible story top US law enforcement officials could openly tell them, other than “Thanks for that big bag of cash! I will look the other way now, and very nice doing business with you.” After all, that’s the general arrangement that Mexican law enforcement has long had with the drug cartels.
Yes, the idea that U.S. elected officials and law enforcement have been penetrated by narco cash is the Occam’s Razor explanation.
