The Racism Against Herman Cain

By people calling themselves “liberals.”

I imagine that napalming one’s political opponents may be, in certain respects, therapeutic. It undoubtedly makes liberals feel morally superior to conservatives. But it won’t win over any converts– and it will probably alienate precisely those voters (independents and moderates) they need. No matter. They are engaged in a rhetorical auto-da-fe, and nothing, certainly not good manners, basic civility, or a sense of respect for those with whom they disagree with, will rein them in.

It’s all very ugly, very discouraging, and very counterproductive. I should add that it would be helpful if the man who based his campaign on unifying Red and Blue America–who promised to listen to us, “especially when we disagree”–would try to calm passions instead of stoke the embers of anger. But Barack Obama has chosen a different, lower road on the path to re-election.

It’s just one of the many lies.

  1. But Cain isn’t really black. Just look at a side by side comparison with a photo of Obama. You’re not a real black until you’re brain washed.

The bigotry is disgusting and blatant. These idiots are the ‘middle’ while decent people are the ‘extreme.’ How is it possible for the media to be so out of whack? Would the media be out of whack if politicians didn’t have taxpayer money (taken by threat of force) to prop up their organizations?

Is that a solution? Can we take away the money that supports these idiots so that genuine economics will put them away? I doubt it.

You didn’t hear this from me, but there’s been a rumor going around — mostly the Birchers are saying it, at least that’s what Matula tells me — that the media are <whisper> biased. </whisper>

  2. This is the tip of the political strategy iceberg. They will keep making uglier and uglier statement throughout the year. The Left know they have no chance of making converts. The goal is to turn off as many independents as possible by November of next year. There problem is the Right needs to be equally vicious in order for that strategy to work. The only successful strategy IMO is to counter with humor.

  3. The other day I read I was racist for supporting Herman Cain because I want to get a black man out of the White House.

  4. I thought you were racist because you want to get a part-Arab man out of the White House, Mpthompson.

    I’m so confused….

  5. I watched the Republican debate on CNN last night.

Here’s my first impression of Cain — before he even opened his mouth. I saw a black man with a shaved head. When I see people with shaved heads, I think “stupid, NeoNazi Skinhead.” OK, I don’t like Cain from the get go.

Then there is the “business” he saved — Godfather Pizza. I don’t ever remember hearing of Godfather Pizza until Cain burst into public view. Great — a company named after a criminal. Oh. Joy. And what kind of “business?” Pizza delivery. I wonder how many independent restaurants that served pizza were put out of business by this chain. I don’t much care for chain restaurants — especially large chains. The food’s mediocre and probably overpriced.

Finally, there is Cain’s comments about why so many Americans have economic difficulties. Briefly, he is one of the bullies and liars who claim it is the fault of common Americans. Hmm, no. There is too much proof on the right and left about assaults on the middle class for the benefit of a few, be they CEOs or high ranking professors or whatever.

Might I suggest people consider a real businessman who lots of people agree did much good for people? I’m thinking of Sidney Harman of Harman-Kardon. Let’s see, he not only helped start a fine, respected business but also an entire industry.

Oh. Wait. Harman’s politics were not the same as today’s Republican Party.

    Forgive my error.

Um, you do realize the cat’s 65 years old, right? Bald is a perfectly acceptable hairstyle for a brother, excuse me, bruh-tha his age. Not all of us want to look like Redd Foxx if we’re lucky enough to make it that far…

  6. There is no strategy in this. They are doing it because they think they are right. They think that everyone else will see that they are right and follow them. Unfortunately they cannot cannot connect with reality and this is why the left must ultimately resort to violence to have their way. History has shown repeatedly that violence is baked in the left.
