Bah. I’m a developer with my own domain, and two or three associated email accounts all of which I keep close to the vest (but still manage to accrue a ton of spam). The vast majority of the world gets to see my Yahoo email address instead.
OTOH, my wife’s only email address is on my domain simply because she’s destructive with computers and it’s ultimately easier to perform domestic tech support when I don’t have to second guess how she fubared her Hotmail account.
Hotmail accounts are good for anonymity.
Yes, and for websites that require email for registration or posting comments. That way the spam doesn’t fill up your real email.
I also use one for students, again, so when some virus runs wild in their regular email it doesn’t impact me.
All my would-be spam goes to flag@whitehouse.gov instead.
