  1. If we multiply the requirements side we GET the economy we currently have. If we multiply the truck guy, limited contractual requirements and nationwide common sense, we’ll get the economy we NEED.

I, for one, will not be holding my breath, waiting for common sense.

(the state [NC] has a REQUIRED hiring freeze, but they keep hiring anyway, on the requirements front locally. my wife’s (idiot) state gub’ment manager keeps piling on ‘requirements’ while they continue to have people jump ship to private industry. [only her group is getting said requirements to complete] the work load increases with fewer techs every month to cover it. her manager has decided that threatening them with upcoming ‘required’ layoffs would improve moral and push them to work harder.

news of the ‘required’ layoffs, combined with the threats, has Mrs DS’s manager being ‘required’ to attend a meeting with his boss and several other upper level types to explain the ‘requirements’ he’s set. personally I’m hoping they ‘require’ him to clean out his desk)

  2. That cafeteria is probably going to be toast sooner rather than later. Somebody in DC heard that story or will read it in the blog, and it will propagate to NASA HQ, and as soon as they figure out which facility is being referred to, the facility director will be ordered to shut down the non-compliant food service immediately AND explain just why he thought he had the authority to start it in the first place.
