When some well meaning liberals find out that I’m a conservative minded individual, they’ll often use their enjoyment of Thomas Friedman’s writings in the NYT to demonstrate they are open to the conservative perspective. I just smile and wait until they aren’t looking to roll my eyes.
I wonder if you or they are thinking of David Brooks? Or maybe Friedman’s support for the Iraq war (and maybe some of his other views on the Middle East) was the cause for confusion.
