Well, when Romney comes campaigning in the Space Coast, I hope a lot of people will turn out with signs dinging him for his lunar mining slams at Newt. In a tight Florida primary, it’s the one place where space votes count. Usually candidates just pander on space pork, but this time Newt might actually make commercial space an issue. Hey, last time the Florida primary got Lori her job, and that actually resulted in better policies from the Obama administration than we otherwise would have got.
It would be funny if Romney’s space views cost him the Floriday Primary and thereafter the nomination.

Puckett, I agree, and much of the fun would be in the bewilderment of Mitt and his fan base when they see the enthusiasm that could come from Spaceflight fanatics if Newt proposes the right sorts of ideas; prizes for milestones in hardware. I’d suggest Newt spend part of the day before that speech in discussion with Dr. Jerry Pournelle, and some time with Our Gracious Host.
