  1. Wow. Is it me or does lpc1998 in the comments section of the Forbes article sound like one of those professional Party commenters I’ve read the Chinese government replies to control narrative?

    1. That last paragraph of his does tend to eliminate any doubt:
      it is better there be a Cultural Revolution than one Chinese Gorbachev

      Better to kill millions less they contemplate the liberty to do things contrary to the needs and requirement’s of China’s national condition.

  2. I’m not surprised that Japan got concerned. China did after all settle a dumb accident around the Senkaku Islands (which is the site of a long running territorial dispute between China, Japan, and other countries in the area) by banning rare earth exports to Japan. It’s pretty obvious that China plays here with a heavy hand and probably will do more of the same as they’re able to.
