  1. I think it’s the biggest, smartest move he could have made. If I was about to be handed $2B, or $14B or $30B, or some enormous amount of money, I’d do this too. Why not leave?

Where’s the UP side of giving anyone, especially a government, a huge chunk of EARNED money like that, to our elected idiots, most of whom have ZERO idea how money gets earned or how it’s best used.

    More power to him.

  2. Atlas isn’t exactly shrugging, he’s more relocating. Rich people have options and can do that. Tax the rich… till there are no rich no more. Because they’ve moved somewhere less antagonistic.

    1. Sorry, Atlas is Relocating to Protect Unrealized Capital Gains doesn’t have the same flow.

      1. Maybe some sort of acronym? ARPUCG? Well, it started out kind of promising, but something needs to be done about the ending.

  3. The author is wrong if he believes this will make them think. The fact that they don’t get the extremely simple concept that what you tax goes away already demonstrates that.

I suspect we will miss all the rich people. The last to go will be democratic donors.

  4. There was a song many years ago that went:

    “Tax the rich
    Feed the poor
Till there are no rich no more.”

Notice how their objective was to eliminate wealth, not poverty? Did they know they’d never wipe out poverty so instead they’d just drag the rich down to everyone else’s miserable level?

California keeps raising tax rates and projecting increased revenues, only to unexpectedly find the revenue projections never come true. Don’t they have even the basic ability to learn or are they all insane?
