My paternal great-grandfather was a crooked politician in Illinois. He and his cronies in the state legislature sold legislation for profit. He turned states evidence on them (despite their vow of silence), and they went to prison while he went free.
Now I know that I’m white and male, but surely being the descendent of a crooked Illinois politician would earn me some creds with the current administration, right?
