    1. I agree with Rand’s terminology. In the process of getting past the $4500 mark, the funding indeed passed that level.

    2. I believe either is correct in this context, “past” describes current status while “passed” is a past-tense verb

    1. You’d have to ask Kickstarter that.

      But as the deadline approaches, they do promote projects that need a push over the top, and I’ve heard that projects tend to get a lot of funding toward the end as people want to help them do so. One without a limit might stagnate.

      In my own case, the time limit is useful, because I have time to do the project now, and I need the money now. That might not be the case a few months from now.

      If there’s not time limit, they will tend to procrastinate.

      It’s just human nature.
