  1. I have no idea what the usefulness of this is, but it looks cool. My grandfather was a research physicist with Polaroid and a few other companies and was working with early Boron compound synthesis at one time. The way it was explained to me was, “Boron prefered to form single dimensional crystal structures, so I came up with a way to weave them into a sheet as they came out of a nuclear reactor.” I don’t know what those sheets were used for, either.

    My background is Computer Science. I took chemistry and have an engineering degree, but that was way beyond what I was trained for.

  2. Would this give a structure strength? Are we talking Bucky Balls made of boron? Or is this good for washing my truck? Stronger hair? Faster dogs? Smarter kids?

    I was hoping the article would say, “…and now we can…X,Y, Z like never before!”.

    1. Perhaps this will lead to novel borax compounds with greater cleaning power?

      Now with triple-bonded dirt fighters!
