1. Because Penn State hired Freeh to do the investigation.

   1. They didn’t hire Freeh to do the investigation of Mann. It was internal, just like the original Sandusky one.

      1. The original investigations were of Paterno investigating himself. This investigation, and the Mann one, were of the Trustees investigating people who report to them.

         1. No, the Mann investigation was by other Penn State tenured professors. It was not independent.

2. We shouldn’t and don’t have any confidence in the report exonerating Michael Mann. I look forward to seeing the emails from his tenure at the University of Virginia once the courts overturn the University’s stonewalling. Someone should bring the same kind of lawsuit against Penn State.
