  1. From the article…

[[[It’s just one example of a larger trend. After all, in the United States many regulations and policies steer people toward certain dietary practices and away from others—nearly always with the backing of some powerful, entrenched, monied interest and nearly always for no good reason whatsoever.

For example, government subsidies pay farmers to produce some foods in lieu of others. Think corn, soy, dairy, and sugar. ]]]

So the big Ag-Business firms control Congress and numerous state legislatures which then promote diets based on the foods its easiest for the big Ag-Business firms to profit from. Nothing new here, but it shows how deep the roots of crony capitalism are beyond the energy industry.

As a side note this sounds like a good First Amendment case and I hope Steve Cooksey.

BTW is you are interested in how long the cover up by the nutrition community has been going on here is an article from 1935 by the polar explorer Vilhjalmur Stefansson.

Of course the “experts” labelled him a “kook” and dismissed his work, including his archeological evidence, on the value of what is now call the paleo-diet 🙂

  2. I completely agree we are basically brain washed by the government, media and so called health authorities to the eat foods that are making us sick and over weight. I have been on the paleo diet for about 6 months now and I absolutely love. Not only am I in the best health of my life, I actually enjoy food more than I ever did before. I now have a passion for whole, natural foods. I have become a total paleo-foodie.

    Thanks for letting me share,
    Lulu

  3. Stefanson is a dietary pioneer in the eyes of Paleo folks, myself included. I had one of my primary docs, years ago, tell me I’d be d-e-a-d in less tan a year if I did the Paleo thing for 6 months.

He suggested that I watch “Supersize Me”, to see what eating large amounts of beef would do a person. (clearly, he knew little about the diet, other than the AMA Party Line)
