  1. That is a pretty bizarre way to squander political capital. I wonder who thought it would actually work. I guess a majority of the union members. That does make me wonder if people so divorced from reality really should be teaching kids anything.

  2. Can we pick a state and put all the ‘progressives’ there? Illinois sounds like a good place to start. I’d even give them two states. I’d hate to give them California, but in the national interest it might be a good idea.

It wouldn’t be that many people. Those that support ‘progressives’ could soon be reeducated on the principles of responsibility and TANSTAAFL.

Didn’t it work in Clockwork Orange? Sorta?

  3. They are already protesting with OWS and several socialist organizations, so pretty close to WI already.

The linked article says Rham might cave, as if he hasn’t already. The contract offered the teachers was very beneficial to the teachers.

  4. I live in Illinois and I can’t imagine the CTF not getting basically what it wants. The Chicagoland voters will put everyone back in office next election, so why not? And even if the voters were willing to make a change, there’s no one else to vote for. Old Media and the ruling class have done an excellent job of stamping out any rising stars that aren’t part of the machine.
