  1. Makes me wonder about something, and I’m curious what others here of the pro-freedom persuasion think: just how stupid do you think the State-humping Obama fanboys who post here are, and if they’re typical of the Hive? Do they actually think, despite all evidence to the contrary, that statist economics actually bring prosperity? If “Il Dufe” is re-elected and is freed to go “Mugabe” on us (fulfilling those dreams from his father)and the economy rides the Von Miseian “planned chaos” spin-cycle* into the toilet, do you think Jim, Chris Gerrib and Bob-1 will actually use their brains and figure out what’s going on? Or will they be posting here. criticizing Obama for not being even MORE statist than he is (a criticism you often hear on the Left), thinking that somehow the laws of economics can be suspended and that this time somehow statism WILL bring prosperity and not shortages?

*State intervention causing economic disruption, which triggers off even greater State intervention, causing even greater economic disruption, triggering still even greater State intervention . . . and so on, and so on. . .

    1. The people I know who are relentlessly cheering for Obama are usually fairly smart, but they seem either mentally unable or unwilling to grasp just how wrong statist policies are. FWIW another blog I read mentioned being in a church where the pastor was preaching to a bunch of conservative anti-gay black people who are going to vote for Obama. I mean, you just can’t fight that attitude.

  2. Bilwick:

It’s a profound -acceptance- of authority. The acceptance that ‘argument from authority’ is actually an excellent argument-ending coup-de-grace. The acceptance of process over sanity. The part that’s amazing is the acceptance of who can -be- an authority. Appointed by other authorities. And ‘shoot the messenger’ against -anyone- outside the clique.

    1. Who Trusts the Media?

What is perhaps even less surprising is that only 26 percent of Republicans and 31 percent of independents have a “great deal” or “a fair amount” of trust in the media. Yet 58 percent of Democrats have a “great deal” or “a fair amount” of trust in the media.

  3. What is amazing is the fact that when people are hurting it drives them to a demagogue like Obama. Al is exactly right, but we may already be past the tipping point. If Romney wins, he’s got to perform.

The lives of hundreds of millions of Americans are depending on a small percentage of undecideds. People that don’t have the brainpower required or they wouldn’t be undecided at this point.
