…if we are to speak objectively and without comparison to even more extreme actors, these “pragmatic moderates” are anything but moderate, and their insidious “pragmatism” — i.e., their pose as conventonal political operatives rather than fire-breathing jihadists — makes them more dangerous.

Perhaps he would execute a _moderate_ version of eliminating Israel under nuclear threat. – E.g. Jews might have 48 hours to evacuate.
After all, a radioactive Palestine would be rather unpleasant for its future inhabitants.
Given the poorly concealed contempt most of the Muslim world actually has for the Palestinians (they all just happen to hate Israel more, is all), I’m not sure the Iranians would mind nuking the place. But as long as their ally Syria is right next door, they have to watch the wind patterns.
