  1. I wonder if those with Obamaphones got a call prior to the election explaining how to register, where to vote, etc.

    1. Please tell me you don’t really believe in Obamaphones.

That craziness aside, why is it a bad thing for people to know how to register and where to vote?

      1. No one is claiming that Obama started the program, just that he expanded it. The term Obamaphone was not started by anti-Obama people. The term was started by Obama supporters who were getting free phones. It was then used to mock Obama’s policies and deservedly so.

        1. The term was started by Obama supporters who were getting free phones.

This. And they wanted to associate Obama as providing the phones as a reason to vote for Obama. Romney sucked because he wasn’t providing free phones.

        2. It was then used to mock Obama’s policies and deservedly so

Obama deserved mockery for continuing a longstanding program?

          1. Once again, Obama is responsible for his own actions. He is a grown man. Elected twice to the office of the President of the United States of America, commonly called the leader of the free world.

It is time to hold Obama responsible for his actions and to stop blaming other people, like Bush, for Obama’s failed policies.

      2. “That craziness aside, why is it a bad thing for people to know how to register and where to vote?”

It is a good thing for “people” to know how to vote but we are not talking about “people”. We are talking about a subset of the population that the Obama campaign targeted, essentially using government money to fund his campaign.

        1. we are not talking about “people”.

          That’s it in a nutshell.

essentially using government money to fund his campaign

So any government program that improves access to information or communication is corrupt, because the recipients may use that access to receive political messages? You must hate the existence of the Internet, AM/FM radio, and roads.

          1. “So any government program that improves access to information or communication is corrupt”

When that access is geared to support the OFA, yes. When the criteria of who to give the access to is how likely they can be convinced to vote for Obama, yes.

“You must hate the existence of the Internet, AM/FM radio, and roads.”

            That’s retarded sir.

  2. You’ve got to be joking. We’re talking about citizens voluntarily sharing their contact information. Do Facebook terms of service trump freedom of speech and assembly? The point of the original article is that this is a ridiculous interpretation of the law:

Of course, I’m not arguing that these folks should be prosecuted. But the fact that a prosecution is even theoretically possible points out the absurdity of basing a CFAA prosecution (or, for that matter, a civil suit) solely on the violation of a website’s terms of service.

    1. Yup, that’s how FB makes money. Its dirty and an intrusion into people’s privacy so I can see why the Obama campaign liked it.

        1. Doesn’t matter. They pull your data from being tagged in pictures and other public records regardless of whether you have an account. They even set up shadow accounts for people who don’t make their own.

It’s just funny cause this is the type of big business run amok that Democrats get all riled up and riot OWS style about but then suddenly become cool with it when it is used by Obama to get elected.

Sort of like going to congress to declare war, rendition, drones, torture, war on women, free speech, racism, crony capitalism, political prisoners, privacy rights ect ect ect.
