  1. I don’t think she should be given immunity. Giving the Obama Administration a benefit of doubt; then it seems the ring leader is Lois Lerner. The problem here is the Obama Administration is not prosecuting Lois Lerner on its own. So Congress must step in per its oversight role.

Lerner may now be retired, but its her actions as a civil servant that are in discussion. Her retirement does not cause the damage she did to go away. At a minimum, she should be fined an amount commiserate with her salary for the time she spent acting in her own personal political interest and not following the law in doing her job. Personally, I think she deserves jail time for abuse of her official authority. Both remedies I suggest are common place in the private sector if an employee of a company were to have behaved as Lois Lerner reportedly did.

If Congress is unable to prosecute her directly, then they should pass a law requiring the DoJ appoint a special prosecutor to handle the case.
