  1. Fundamentally he’s just reflecting this Administration’s desire to make faux “breakthroughs” geared to the Low Information Voters (LIVs). Of course, his inherent blow-hardism and egomania, which we’ve witnessed lo these many decades in Massachusetts, fits with that perfectly.

P.S. One of our local talk show guys has long called him “Lurch.” Actually, I think Lurch was smarter.

  2. Serious question; has any administration, at least since WWII, ever appointed an utterly inexperienced political hack as sec.state? Or in the case of this administration, done it twice?

Regarding the articles pontifications over Egypt; unlike thew author, I’m glad they are cracking down on deposed Pres. Morsi and his ilk. I see no problem at all with that – they’re islamists (Muslim Brotherhood), so the the harder the crackdown, the better. What I had huge issues with was the way Obama stabbed Mubarak (A longtime ally) in the back and caused the rise of the Muslim Brotherhood (whom his administration were moronic/Machiavellian enough to call “secular”). Now, *if* Obama really was backing the military-coup-installed government, I’d say it was one of the very few things he’d gotten right. But he’s been lurk-warm at best to them.

As for Kerry being delusional, I think the author has that part right. Kerry also has an overwhelming faith in his own verbose speechifying, as noted by the Russian forign minister, who said, “Sometimes, diplomacy requires silence”.

The Iran deal is being so badly bungled that, for the first time that I have ever seen, Israel and Saudi Arabia are on the same page publicly, and even France is calling the US foolish. And in this, France and the others are right; we are being played for fools, for fools we are.

  3. Tells you a lot about the Democratic Party and its worshippers that they thought that this loser would make just a jim-dandy POTUS.
Tells us all a lot about the Democratic Party that they kept on getting him elected to the Senate, election after election.
I guess, for Democrats, actual competence takes second place to dogma.

  4. Obama was right when he said he knows more about any job he hires someone to do. Sad thing is Obama is an idiot on most subjects other than how to agitate for domestic progressive causes so he hires people dumber than himself.
