I’ve long believed that many judges are nothing more than failed lawyers with sufficient political connections to get appointed to the bench. This judge serves as supporting evidence.
DC superior court judges aren’t Article 3 life tenure judges, but rather Article 1 judges, with a very limited jurisdiction and tenure. I believe most DC Superior court judges are only 15 year terms, then renewed.
It’s a nice gig, but nowhere what a Article 3 judge gets.
