If this happens, I’d move there in a heartbeat. I’ve always thought that northern California one of the nicest geographical locations to live on the planet, at least within the US.

I can see where “liberals” will object to the new state being named after a slaveowner.
Because, you know, they’re so devoted to the idea of human liberty.
Reagan might be a better President to choose. Of course you could have other parts of California split off, and at least one of those sections could be named after Obama, while others could be named after Simon Bolivar or, more likely, Pablo Escobar.
