  1. The Crony Rich buy Democrats because they stay bought cheaply. They provide the biggest crony bang for the buck.

    Tammany hall, Mayor Dailey, LBJ………..

  2. As Albert Jay Nock wrote back in the 1930s, “Big Business does not want a government they can be free from. They want a government they can control.” See “Kolko, Gabriel.”

All that money pouring into Clintonista coffers that could actually be used to, you know, help people.

  3. ” There’s no intrinsic reason that plutocrats would give a damn about the country.”

When a Dem says this, you call them a commie.

    1. Dems hardly ever say that (I doubt if you can find a single example). They usually say things like “caring about ‘the people,'” or “caring about the 99%,” or some other Marxist rot.

  4. There’s no intrinsic reason that plutocrats would give a damn about the country.

And yet we give them an exaggerated role in running the country.

      1. “We” don’t give them that. People like you, who want unlimited unconstitutional government give them that.

Huh. I would’ve thought plutocrats would benefit most from people like you, who want unlimited, unrestricted corporate control of the economy.

Honestly, Rand, the populist hat doesn’t fit you too well.

That’s an insane notion of what I want.

  5. Far be it from me to accuse scholars such as dn-guy and Dave of being ignorant, and God forbid one should accuse a “liberal” (i.e., tax-happy coercion-addicted State-fellator) of accidetally or even intentionally misusing the language, but they seem to think a “plutocrat” is the same as a “rich person.”

  6. Isn’t that against their interests?

The answer is no. These billionaires are not capitalists. They don’t want free enterprise and don’t really understand it. They are about privilege and eliminating competition. People that understand free enterprise embrace competition. Free enterprise is too chaotic for these control freaks.
