But the 9 percent increase in Obamacare spending over the last quarter has raised our GDP to 0.1%, so Obamacare kept us out of a recession. While I’m being sarcastic, the facts are, unfortunately, true.
I’d like to personally thank Jim for forcing us to spend money on unneeded expenses, without it, we would have had negative growth.
Well, people would have had the choice to spend that money on other things and a large portion of the Obamacare bump comes from the government paying for Medicaid which is another drain on the tax payers disposable income. It is hard to say that growth would not have been higher were it not for the government hoovering enough money to bump national health care spending by several percent.
