“Shovel Ready” Jobs

Why does the Left hate work?

Some on the right think this strategy is part of a grand plan. They see an increase in the number of Americans who are dependent on the federal government as beneficial to Democrats, who largely win the votes of those to whom they offer ever-higher benefits and welfare. I refuse to imagine that any such insidious thinking is behind the left’s refusal to embrace job creation.

I believe, instead, that it springs from a wide-spread lack of private sector experience. President Obama believes the government can right all wrongs – that’s the wellspring from which community activists derive their inspiration. It is a philosophy that has done great damage to this country in recent years – and we’re not out of the woods yet.

I think she’s too kind.

Nobody could possibly be that delusional. They are liars that want to control others and be uncontrolled themselves. They are evil. Not just a little evil. unadulterated and pure.

They don’t believe the crap they want you to swallow. It’s just a game they know you don’t know how to play.

    1. Ken, Remember that time Chris Gerrib and I drove out west to visit you? My favorite part was when Chris forced you to read his extremely evil science fiction stories until he felt that you had been sufficiently controlled.

“It’s just a game they know you don’t know how to play.”

I knew it! I told Chris that you’d catch on if we played Fizzbin.

Ken, do you still believe your statement is true?

  2. I do think there is a large segment of the Socialist Left who believe that everyone works at maximum capacity all the time – or would of they only had an opportunity.

They also think that evil is always a product of simple misunderstanding.

Both of these concepts are totally wrong and neither takes into account human nature.

  3. Sometimes, I get the impression that the Left hates real work so much because they may end up having to do it.

Governor William J. Le Petomane: Holy underwear! Sheriff murdered! Innocent women and children blown to bits! We have to protect our phoney baloney jobs here, gentlemen! We must do something about this immediately! Immediately! Immediately! Harrumph! Harrumph! Harrumph!

They believe that if they were in charge of everything, socialism would work. They sit in their government offices or Ivory Towers and pontificate with all the wisdom of a bunch of stoners smoking a fat bunt. If they lose their current gigs, they might have to actually work for a living.

Dr Ray Stantz: Personally, I liked the university. They gave us money and facilities, we didn’t have to produce anything! You’ve never been out of college! You don’t know what it’s like out there! I’ve *worked* in the private sector. They expect *results*.

  4. The left may hate work, but I believe their current lack of interest in job creation has a simpler explanation. The left’s not interested in job creation, now, because their polls tell them it’s not a winning pitch to a majority of voters. Every-bloody-thing the Democrats do is based on their private polls. And why aren’t Rand Paul, Ted Cruz, Jeb Bush, John Boehner, and all other nationally name-recognized Republicans harping on job creation every single day? Polling results, perhaps? Both parties may simply be responding to what the majority of likely voters are telling them in private polls. If that’s true, I’m worried about the future of the country.

  5. It’s the Cloward-Piven hypothesis in action. Anybody who works, in any kind of job, has their own tiny piece of independence from the state. That cannot be tolerated beacuse that reduces dependence on the state. The writer is well-intentioned in her misplaced kindness towards the left, but she does have pair of blinders on about the size of the Arecibo radio telescope in Puerto Rico.
