  1. I agree with Zubrin’s comments. Regrettably there is broad-bipartisan (again that word) support in Germany for this ‘green’ energy mess. Merkel is probably one of the worst political leaders Europe has ever had in democratic times.
    Ever since Denmark started with this mess others tried to replicate it. It kind of makes sense in Denmark because Norway has a lot of pumped-hydro capacity they can use as a battery. But even Denmark end up burning a lot of coal. Because of this little scheme electricity prices in both countries have been rising steeply. People hate the electricity price rises but think it is great to have ‘clean’ energy at the same time. It is rather pathetic really.
    France had mostly escaped from this mess but if you saw the insane amount of anti-nuclear propaganda they have over there all over the place, including state and private television, you would see even there it won’t last long. People can be pretty stupid and ungrateful. If it wasn’t for nuclear energy IMO France’s economy would have completely collapsed in the last decade instead of merely stagnating.
