I started to read McCullough’s book with great anticipation – he’s written so many great bio’s including Adams and Truman.
Couldn’t finish it. Awful.
I remember watching a video of Scott Crossfield attempting, failing and then successfully flying what I believe was a replica of one of the Wright’s gliders. The X-15 veteran pilot claiming afterwards that it was the most difficult aircraft he had ever flown.
