Is Jim Webb getting ready for an independent run?
I noted on Twitter yesterday that I’d like to see a five-way race between Trump, Hillary, Webb, Sanders, and a real Republican.

Fun. Michael Bay is coming out with a movie about Benghazi, just in time for primary season.
It would be nice, and not only to split the democrat ticket, but to see if the normal left wingers would come out and retake the party from the social justice warriors.
I saw the trailer a few months ago. Looks like a solid action movie. Something folks would go see for the entertainment.
If Bay doesn’t stray from the book too far, this could get very entertaining in a different sense. Fire up the popcorn!
It’s telling that he was not able to run as a Democrat. I think as an independent, he would do enough damage to any Republican candidate to ensure a Hillary win. Perot was the only reason Bill Clinton was able to win both times he ran. Webb would have the same or greater effect (as a Republican, I might even vote for him). Especially if Trump was the nominee.
He’d never win though, having screwed up that space telescope so badly…
Good point. Kerry: too French. Similarly, Webb: so French, the telescope is launching on an Ariane 5 from French Guiana.
Still, if it launches by 2019 and performs well, Webb could run on a campaign slogan about perfect vision in 2020.
