Sauce For The Goose

No, Republicans shouldn’t let the Democrats filibuster the Supreme Court picks.

As has often been pointed out, Democrats in power behave as though they’ll never lose power again. Make them pay for it.

Related, sort of: Democrats are starting to realize that Obama led them into a cultural cul de sac.

This sea of red shows how devastating the electoral losses of the past six years have been for Democrats.

I’m still angry that the media somehow made red the color of the Republicans, instead of the Marxists.

  1. Democrats blocked many Bush appointments to the federal court even prior to taking control of the Senate. It was during this phase that the nuclear option was coined. And then we learned why Democrats blocked the appointments, as Reid went nuclear. This allowed Democrats to pack courts.

    Welcome to payback.

  2. Before the Commies hijacked it, red was the color of revolution — real revolution, for democracy, freedom, and national identity. Garibaldi wore red, and it was the color of Liberty Caps in America and France.

    1. Let me add to this comment.

I am a third generation graduate of Rutgers. My degree is in physics. My father earned his degree in economics from Rutgers in 1935. His father earned his degree in chemistry from Rutgers in 1890.

The school color of Rutgers is RED (now, perhaps Scarlet) and has been since at least 1900, at least officially. Probably before as well.

Rutgers was founded as Queens College in November 1766. Yes, 250 years ago this month.

Sometime after our country’s successful revolution it was renamed Rutgers after Revolutionary War here Colonel Henry Rutgers.

Now you know why RED is my favorite color. And I loathe Communists and all other totalitarians.

Oh — here is a link to my photos from the Congressional reception this year: Rutgers Congressional Reception. Yes, there is a good bit of red.

  3. Absolutely no compromises. We know how the left operates. Whine for cooperation when they lose, smash the opposition when in power.

  4. I think Morrissey meant that the Democrats were reaping what they had been sowing for eight years. But what do I know?

  5. The evil lying liberty haters need to be defanged and declawed while we can. Completely ignore their screams about how unfair it is. Never give them a moments break. They haven’t.

  6. Tit for tat leads to results but the tactic must be accompanied with the promise of a way out by both sides agreeing to stop the disagreeable activities. Because Democrats can’t be trusted, this will be hard unless there is a formal agreement with some sort of enforceable punishment worked in.

    1. Only if Breyer or Ginsburg leave the court in the next couple of years. You can bet though that, with Trump as president, they will be holding the edges of their coffins with their fingernails to prevent that outcome.
I like Justice Thomas a lot, but it might be wise for him to resign at the end of the current term to allow Trump to appoint a younger person to his seat. Assuming, of course, that Trump can be trusted to appoint the kind of justices he named during the campaign.
