Russia?

No, “the pony in the manure is the corruption of our intelligence officials.”

It’s both appalling and amusing to watch the Democrat operatives with bylines in the media attempt to “cover” this story (as in, in the immortal words of Iowahawk, hold a pillow over it until it stops moving).

It’s worth reading the Victor Davis Hanson piece that Clarice cites. Sure, after all the lies about Benghazi and the deserter, I totally believe Susan Rice now. As noted, if Obama was Nixon, she’d be one of his “plumbers.”

Rice, Obama’s hatchet woman, proves Lord Acton right again.

Why is CNN trying to refute a story it refuses to cover?

Susan Rice’s unmasking: A Watergate-style scandal:

Understand: There would have been no intelligence need for Susan Rice to ask for identities to be unmasked. If there had been a real need to reveal the identities — an intelligence need based on American interests — the unmasking would have been done by the investigating agencies.

The national-security adviser is not an investigator. She is a White House staffer. The president’s staff is a consumer of intelligence, not a generator or collector of it.

If Susan Rice was unmasking Americans, it was not to fulfill an intelligence need based on American interests; it was to fulfill a political desire based on Democratic-party interests.

Oopsie. What did the president know, and when did he know it? Will Susan Rice wear orange to protect him?

[Update early afternoon]

Susan Rice has no defense. Only one I can think of is “I was ordered by the president,” but that one doesn’t pass the Nuremberg test.

A Watergate-level scandal? Looks like it to me, particularly if they can find a link to Obama. Of course, the IRS scandal should have been as well. Obama did what Nixon could only dream of doing.

  1. This is nothing like Watergate. Watergate was about G Gordon Liddy and some low-rent Cubans trying to plant a crappy audio bug in a hotel. This is about an administration that used our national intelligence assets and their $50 billion dollar budget to sweep up everything about a Presidential candidate and his campaign and transition teams in an effort to continue in power, and then in disgust and anger to cripple the executive branch of the United States of America.

    1. C’mon people. Watergate was about Nixon bugging — himself. Mr. Obama was smart enough not to do such a thing.

      He is, isn’t he?

  2. If only Trump were Hitler. We need a firing squad to deal with the level of treason in our govt. and media.

America can defend itself from without, but could easily die from within if we don’t seriously deal with this real rather than imagined evil.

No I am not advocating fascism… I’m saying we defend ourselves from it. This is another delusional projection of the left.

Only the left could make a person think… “maybe Hitler, Stalin, Mao et. al. weren’t so bad?” Did I explode any heads? Good!

    1. I’ve often thought that if Trump wanted to make himself more popular with the Lefties, he should start killing people–a lot of people. Lefties seem to like murderous tyrants like Mao. But Trump would have to justify his killing with the Accepted shibboleths, like “this is for the Common Good.”

He might also have to get aboard with free health care. I remember when a reporter asked an anti-war protester when the US was poised to invade Iraq if the protester was at all concerned that Saddam Hussein and his sons were dictators, given to torturing and murdering their critics. The protester said, “When it comes to dictators, I only ask one question: ‘Do they give their people free health care, or not?”
